Offshore Support Group (OSG)

The Offshore Support Group was established in June 1997 to assist in developing local support structure for hydrocarbon exploration and development offshore Ireland through:
· industry-related training
· equipment purchase and use
· limited data acquisition
· research support 
 
 
Funding: €1,047,533 (€253,947 per annum for four years, 1997-2001, and €31,743 for one year, 2001-2002)
Contributors: All companies awarded exploration licences in the 1997 and 1999 Frontier Licensing Rounds
Management: Administered by the Petroleum Affairs Division (PAD) in consultation with the industry

The OSG has completed its term and work in 2002 when it was superceded by the Expanded Offshore Support Group (EOSG).
